I'm happy to say that EVERYONE took notice of this. Keep in mind, many of the colts fans on the indystar blog site are trying to say that it was just bad timing, and that Phillip Rivers was jawing to the crowd and that's what prompted the booing, however we of fair to middling intelligence know otherwise. Among those in the collective afore mentioned "we," would be none other than Robert Kraft. This girl, Anna Grant from NH, received a call from ANDRE TIPPITT himself, informing her that she would be properly congratulated at home in Foxborough at the beginning of the AFC Championship game against the Chargers... LOL I love it! So not only did the Colts boo her the first time, they will get to see her in HD while sitting on their couches at home NOT playing in the AFCCG! Like I said, Karma is a mutha! You can see the video of said booage, as well as the news spot around it up in NH. This little girl is pretty cool, in the article, found here, she said that her friends all told her to expect something like that. This article is awesome, and when Kraft talks about what it was like to win the first SB so shortly after 9-11, well, all I can say is that if I were a girl with a heart or feelings, I may well have cried. (luckily, I have none of the above!) Ok, enough of all that... I'm getting sappy!

Onward and upward... So do you remember the time that Anthony Smith, ("uh who? Ya, I've never heard of him. ~R. Harrison") of the Steelers "GUARANTEED" a win against New England? Do you remember what the outcome was? Two TD's LEGIT right over the top of his head and a resounding win of 34-14. How about the time that Paul Spicer (ridiculous name) of the Jags said he thought we should have been fined $2million, banned from the Playoffs, and stripped of the 1st, 2nd, AND 3rd round picks. Well, those things didn't happen, and we knocked the Jags out of the running. Well, here we go, you would think these idiots would learn that we'd win anyway, but it will be so much more brutal and heartfelt if you give us some kind of fodder... Why not paint a target on your helmet? Some defensive end for the Chargers ran his mouth saying "the way we're playing right now, nothing can stop us." Need I go on? That was enough right there! He went on to say that we, specifically BB, are scratching our heads trying to figure out the best way to handle them, and that, "they [the patriots] are more worried than we [chargers] are right now." LOL... you can read the entire article here, and laugh about how stupid these people are!

Now, for those of you who are starting to feel a little nervous, here are some things that should make you feel better. FIRST: I am not nervous ::pfftt:: Second: Read this article, and it should calm any nerves left over. Keep in mind that our record in the playoffs at home is AMAZING so we have that in our favor, as well as the fact that the Chargers had to play the Titans, who NEVER should have made it into the playoffs in the first place... then they played Seyton "the choke artist" Manning at home, and Manning lost the game, vs the Chargers actually winning it. And finally... we just THOUGHT the Steelers were a broken team! These raggedy assed Chargers are coming in with third stringers, starters playing in wheelchairs, a couple of the coaches illegitimate, paraplegic, retarded step children have been spotted suiting up for practice, etc. It's going to be like playing a special Olympics team. Not to worry my friends...

On a more serious, and irritating note, read this "breaking news" article about Randy Moss. It just goes to show you, when you're the best, someones always going to try and bring you don't. I choose not to believe this, because I honestly (and call me naive, but keep in mind the TERRIBLE things I initially had to say about Moss when he was drafted.) believe that he has now truely become a part of the team, and I also believe that he's happy where he is and would do some stupid shit to jeopardize it. I won't say anything else right now, but when you read the article, I'm ready and willing to discuss it.

Ok folks, that's all for now. Enjoy the next four days... I'm looking forward to it! A sunday afternoon game, a federal holiday on Monday... you know what THAT means... It means that I'm STILL never drinking again, but I'm looking forward to a night of gingerale and Pats fans! ;) There are SEVERAL new names added to the list, so welcome, and come introduce yourself on Sunday... I'm 6' tall, loud and obnoxious, and I'll be wearing my throwback Bledsoe jersey. See ya there!

Talk to you guys soon,

Heather Barclay

Cell: 978-407-1655

GO PATS!!! 17-0, just 2 more to go!

Time For Patriot Games

I must first say: Stop me if you've heard this one. I'm having the most insane case of Deja Vu... as I'm thinking about what to write, I keep saying in my head, I SWEAR I've already written this, right down to the title of my email. I've looked at my dcpatfan blog site, my sports illustrated blog site, my personal myspace, the dcpatfan myspace and all of my emails, and I don't see anything like this... Maybe it's the stress of being a Patriots fan!

That said, let me tell you that my computer just crashed, and after doing about 40 minutes of writing, cutting and pasting, hyperlink making, etc, all that was left was this first stupid paragraph. Forgive me, but this is not going to be ANYwhere near as funny and deep as the first one!

Here's a NY written article about the alligations of Mangini cheating... Of course, it's written in such a way that we could NEVER POSSIBLY assume Eric dear would ever do something so foul as BB would. Pfttt! The NFL has decided not to look into it any further, and it's no longer even a headline on NFL.com... so sad. A little case of the pot calling the kettle cheater... regardless of what everyone is saying, there is going to be a very strong motivation for Sunday's game. All season, all we have heard is: "we are a one game team," we don't look back and we don't look ahead, we focus on the next game coming down the pike, it's just one more in a line of 16 games we have to play.... What that is all code for is: "Screw Mangini, screw the Jets, and screw NY... oh, and New Jersey too of course. We's rather shoot McDaniels in the head than see Mangini pimp him out, we blame him for Branch, oh, and the league hasn't even SEEN what running up the score really looks like! You just thought that deadskins/pats game was ugly, you haven't seen anything yet!"

this is the "rematch" that most Pats fans have been waiting for. Poor Maura is having nightmares about it... this game is effecting the lives of pats fans everywhere! As with the Dolphins at the begining of the year, I'm not going to pull a Steelers Safey and say we've got this game in the bag... But i WILL tell you, I can promise that the line will be protecting Brady like never before, because these bastards are nasty, and they have nothing else to live for... it's not like this game will get them anywhere near even a wild card slot... but a cheap shot would be right up their alley... And I can also tell you that, unlike the Eagles and Ravens, both of whom I think the team slept on and came out a little under prepared, this week the Pats are going to play like they are playing the superbowl... they aren't going to come in cockey, they are going to come in baited for bear.

Some History: This will be the 97th time we play the Jets since we became the Boston Patriots back in 1960. Should we win this game, we will be at a 50% win rate, as right now we are at 47-48-1. Over the last 10 games, we've won 9, prior to that one loss, we swept them from 2003-2005, and since the begining of the Kraft era, we are 18 and 10 against them.

As you know, it's snowing in Boston, and since 1993, we are 22-3 in all games with a temp of 33 or lower. There was some stat about playing at home in the snow, and I know we are undefeated, however I can't remember if that was an all time thing, or just since "Gillette" stadium... you can thank my computer for that blown stat!

PS, I just stumbled upon this website, don't know how I missed it, but it's called Patsfan.com and on it they have the Grogan Grade! This is the fifth season that Grogan sits down with a columnist and they go back and forth about each game... love it!

Other news, I'm sure you already know, but Brady got the Offensive player of the week, and Roger Clemens got outted as a steroid user. (see, I told you there would be no flow to the new email.)

Ok, now, a little head-2-head... Kellen Clemens will be starting, so lets take a look at him compared to Brady shall we? It's sad, there's really no contest. Brady's started all the games, Clemens has only started 8, Brady has as 70% completion rate, Clemens has 50%, Brady's been sacked 16 times in 13 games, Clemens has been sacked 24 times in 8 games, Brady's thrown 45 passing TDs, Clemens has thrown FOUR... Brady's fairly good looking Clemens looks like Tony Siragusa stomped on his face... ok, I've grown weary of this!

Records: Ok, there are many records we stand to beat this week if all goes as planned... Brady needs to throw 5 more TD passes to beat Manning.... I dont' see why he can't do that on Sunday. NO QB has ever thrown more than 7 TD passes in one game... lets shoot for 8! Also, 72 is the highest number of points scored in one game... we might be able to do something about that also! Moss needs just 4 TD's to break or 3 to match the all time record for most in a game. Even if we don't pull them off in one game, we still have Miami next. Speaking of which, lets start crossing fingers about thier next three games also...

One last word on our new friend Anthony Smith, getting spanked didn't shut his mouth... rather, he said that they didn't play thier best, but will see us again in January... Now, having looked at the top seeded teams, I don't see any way that the steelers will be anything other than a 3 seed... because of the way things look, the only way we would see them again is in the AFC Championship game... and to do that they will have to get through the wild card, then divisionals, then beat the Colts! LOL doubt it!

Ok, game time 1pm (I think I lied somewhere, in this fake email I think i've written somewhere, that it was a 4:15 game time...). You know where I'll be... I'll be getting there a little early (IE, 10 am or something stupid) like last week. You knew last week was a big deal when Pats fans started coming in BEFORE kickoff!! LOL.

See you guys on Sunday!

GO PATS, 13-0

Heather Barclay

Whew! what a squeekah!

The next is a youtube clip...Well folks, I think we all need to take a minute to thank that, until last week, unHEARD of safety Anthony Smith... Any doubt of a win was then removed, once dear Smith (Who? Never heard of that guy... ~R Harrison) GUARANTEED a win against the Patriots... well, here we are, 13 and 0nly... and trust me Smith, we have enough Humble Pie to save a slice for you!

I actually have very little to say today (shocking). There are however, a couple videos and articles to check out. The first is on the main page of nfl.com... it's called the new 'America's Team.' Adam Schefter says that while the Cowboys may be America's Team, the Patriots have the title on loan! LOL... The next is a youtube clip... if this doesn't make you smile every bit as hard as seeing a montage of Papelbon's jig set to Shipping Up to Boston, I don' know what's wrong with you! While watching this, pay attention around 1:05... you'll see Big Ben doing the famous "Manning Face..." lol For those of you who didn't get enough of the "Slap you in the face Smith" flea-flicker, here's a clip of that one too... SO good!! I've watched this video about 6 times just this morning... I love it. As if every game we win, every time we go for it on fourth down, every time we run the score up over 50 points, as if THAT wasn't enough of an Eff You, this was the mother off all middle fingers to the Steelers, Smith specifically, and all of the idiots on ESPN that said the Steelers were the one's going to bring us down. Here is NFL Network Total Access saying that NOW they think the pats will go all the way undefeated... during the clip, you can see a replay of Smith running his mouth at Brady and then James Harrison (#92) coming from behind to Hem Brady up between himself and Smith... and you can ALSO see NO flag being thrown... but that's fine... I guess we aren't tipping the Ref's enough...

Many of you know that I was getting hostile texts from random Pgh numbers all night, well it turns out the were ALL from Sterling, he was too lazy to type scaithing comments on a regular cell phone so he would grab whatever PDA was closest and type on a QWERTY keyboard...LAME... in any case, at 6:56pm, he sent me another text saying: "I accept... just give me some time." So even the meanest, nastiest Steelers fan had to hang his head and conceed... a victory all around for the Pats fans...

Ok folks, more later as we prep for the Pats/Jets.... while as of monday the spread was already 24.5, and even if we hand them their nuts on a plate, this is still the game I"VE been waiting for since we played them at the begining of the year. Everything the pats and Belichick have done to thumb their noses at the League, it's ALL been for Mangina... now, we will have the chance to tell him (Between the line's ofc) how we feel about him, and the rest of his team... I honestly can't wait!

More later, GO PATS!

13-only

Heather Barclay

Pats V. Steelers... Tailgate and Game day news

First things first... how about that Ravens game!!!? I think we nearly froze our backends off!! It was the coldest, and windiest day of my life! But despite the cold, the wind, the near heartattack caused by the game, the guy that called Maura and myself "Cunts" when we sat down in our seats, etc, it was still an awesome experience! For those of whom I didn't connect with, I'm sorry and hope you all had as much fun as I did!

Now, down to business: Don't forget, this coming Saturday we are having a pre-game "tailgate party" at McFaddens, between the Pats fan club and the Steelers fan club. This even is the day before the two teams go head to head at 4:15. When you get to the bar, tell them you're with the Pats/Steelers party, and you will pay $10 for a wrist band that will get you free draught beer from 3-7, as well as $2 rail drinks. Treat the bartenders well, and they will return the favor... they are a lot of fun! let me know who is going, and if you're bringing people... I just want a basic idea of how many people to expect, and I don't want the steelers fans to outnumber the pats fans!!! Feel free to bring friends, even if they have no football affiliation, but make sure they PRETEND to be pats fans! lol

Ok, on to the game: Ugh, I'm not going to lie, after all the shit I've been talking up until this point, I'm now starting to get a little nervous... We've had pretty poor showings the last two games in a row, and the Steelers are some big and nasty dudes. Here's the break down of the QB's...

Ok, both teams have now played 12 games. Brady has attempted 430 passes, and has a completion rate of 70% and some change. Big Ben has attempted almost 100 fewer passes, 320, and of those 320 has completed just under 67%. Ben has been intercepted 11 times, and Brady only 5 all season... and lets talk about Sacks! Ben=35, Brady=16. However, as we have seen over the last two games, the QB doesn't MAKE the game... we really need to be concerned about stopping the Steeler's from putting too much pressure on Brady. The steeler's defense has guys like Polamalu, who has 42 combined tackles for the year and 2 forced fumbles. And then there is Ike Taylor, who has 53 combined tackles, 1 sack, and 2 interceptions. And Aaron Smith, who only has 27 combined tackles, but also has another 2.5 sacks. We are looking at some big guys, who hit hard, and are RUTHLESS. The team combined has 33 sacks, 8 INTs and a total of 34 TD's while only allowing 17 TDs all year. While we have had 61 total TD's, we've allowed 26!

I'd be a liar if I said I felt confident about this game. There are just so many things that could go badly! Here is an article explaining what the patriots need to do, specifically, 5 things we need to do to get our act together. We will need to work on all five, and a few more by Sunday if we plan to get the job done.

Here's a little history... The past two Pats/Steelers match ups have both resulted in ending long winning streaks. On Halloween back in 2004, the Steelers beat the Patriots 34-20, breaking our Record winning streak of 18 consecutive regular season games (but we STILL won the friggin superbowl, thank you very much!) Then, a little less than a year later, we beat the Steelers in september of '05, 23-20, breaking their 16 game streak... ironically, that was they year THEY went to the superbowl...

We haven't played the Steelers since that 2005 regular season game, and ofc, this will be Tomlin's first time playing the Patriots as the head coach of the Steelers. We are 10-1 against teams with first time head coaches over this season and last season. (8 first time coaches last year, and four, counting the steelers, this year). The last time the Steelers traveled to Boston, was the 2002 season opener(and Gillette grand opening)... and we beat them, badly, 30-14. However, since first meeting the steelers in 1970, they own the overall series win, at 13-9.... lets make this 13-10 shall we?!!

Ok, I'm gonna go puke, I'm nervous! Let me know who's coming to the "Tailgate" on Saturday... i mean come on, who can turn down an excuse to get drunk for $10?? I leave you with this article Mike sent me... it was in the Pittsburgh Post Gazette... the biggest steelers fan rag there is. Read it, and cross your fingers we get to feed Smith a little bit of our humble pie, I'm sure we have some left!

GO PATRIOTS!!!

Heather Barclay

978-407-1655

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://dcpatfans.blogspot.com/2007/12/pats-v-steelers-tailgate-and-game-day.html' title='Pats V. It's going to be at the Hippodrome Theatre in Baltimore... it is a bipartisan even, ie: both Pats AND Ravens fans will be there... cash bar, and it should be awesome! Like I said, as soon as i get it, I will forward the Evite to you guys... for those of who really wanted something to do but didnt' have tickets, I highly reccomend this... and also, PLEASE promote our fan club when you meet other Pats fans there!! There will be a silent auction for a chance to win a $400 snowboard. This event is sponsored by the dad foundation... check them out at dadfoundation.org. More on that when I get the info.

As you all know, we meet the Ravens in Baltimore this coming Monday night, 12/3. Since the beginning of the bmore raven's franchise in 1996, we have played them just three times, Monday being the fourth. I can't seem to figure out how many times we have played Baltimore total... I'll keep digging around.

My favorite tidbit: As you all know, we have activated T. Brown for this weeks game... this will be our fourth time against the bmore ravens, and the fourth game that both Teddie and Troy have played in! This will be a little nostalgia for them. I'm very excited to have Brown back, and I have also activated him on my fantasy team as well! Had to pull Clinton Portis to do it, but it looks like they may not play on Sunday, so it wouldn't matter anyway.

The ravens are one of two teams (the other being the Giants) that Tom Brady hasn't ever thrown a TD pass against. God knows, as many records as we are breaking these days, that's just one more to add to the list! This will also be our first time in the M&T stadium, leaving just Arizona and Seattle's stadiums left that we have never played in.

This week, with a win, we will join the Canton Bulldogs (1922 and 1923... entire season), and the Chicago Bears in 1985 as having won the first 12 Games consecutively. The 1922 and 1923 seasons were 12 game seasons, so they technically should be in the same league as the '72 Dolphins I think... but they did have a couple ties each year, and back then those counted as wins, so TECHNICALLY they didn't really sweep the season!

The highest amount of TD's in a single seaons happened in 1984, by Miami, and the record stands to date at 70. HOWEVER, we the mighty record breaking Patriots, are now at 58! We are averaging 5.3 TD's per game, and we have five games left = 26.5 TDs... add that to the 58 TD's we already have and we stand to break the record by 14+ TDs!!

The NFL record for most completed passes in a season is held by Gannon, from Oakland, in 2002...As it stands, Brady has completed 284 passes, for an average of 25.8/game. If he maintains that average, he will hit 413, just missing the record by 5 completions... IF he can step up his average just one completion a game, we can tie it... With 413 completions, he will however, Break my dear Bledsoe's third place NFL record in 1994, with 400 completions.

As we are ALL well aware... Manning currently holds the record for most TD passes for a single season...Brady currently has 39, over the past 11 games, that's an average of 3.5/game... multiply that by the 5 games we have left, and that's the potential of 17 and some change more TD passes... if he keeps traveling on the path he's on, that could bring us to a record breaking 56+ TDs... Considering we have the Jets and 'Phins left, I don't see ANY of these goals posing a problem!!

Ok, I hate math, so I'm exausted now! As I said, as soon as I get the Evite from the dad foundation, I will send that along. I think it's a great idea for anyone wanting to go up to Bmore, but not going into the game.

Talk to you all soon

Heather Barclay

GO PATS!!!

Sorry, one more email

Hey guys, Steve sent me this sometime this week and I thought I'd pass it along... If the Patriots win this game, and/or the Bills lose theirs (they are playing the Jaguars I believe, and I don't think the Bills have a prayer against the Jags running game), the the Patriots will join three other teams in the NFL, as having clinched the championships by week 11. Are there any other records out there we can beat?? Oh, well actually... when we rematch against the Jets, it is rumored that the point spread will be the highest in NFL history... That's something I guess...

So many good articles, so little time. I suggest you read this one, found in a Philly newspaper of all things!! I don't think this could have been more favorable towards us if it had been written by a Patriots fan!! It's very well written, and in between my reading it, I punctuated with the occasional "hell ya," or, "it's about goddamned time someone gets the picture!"

Here is a Blog that i found, and I have to tell you, it too is wonderfully written... much like the Philly article, I couldn't help but nodding and muttering little affermations througout reading it... the comments on the end make me laugh too... Some people really are idiots. I mean, I LOVE the Patriots... so how do I prove that? By sitting here for hours and writing these emails, going to every game, branding my entire state on my back, not owning anything other than dress clothes, and patriots stuff... how OTHER teams show love? By going on to various websites, and leaving ignorant comments on Patriots articles and blogs... GET A LIFE!

This one is another blog, written by the same author above. It's outdated, as it is talking about the Pats/Colts game... but if you have the time, it's hysterical... I think I'm in love with this guy!

Here's an article written about Moss, and why he's more valuable than Brady. It's a good article, however I'm not sure I can agree with it 100% God knows, I'm not the biggest Brady fan... However, i've found myself saying an aweful lot of nice things about him recently... I still think he's a big dork, and that Bledsoe got a raw deal (leave me alone, I had to put that out there ok?!) But he's really proven himself to be a great QB, and a great representitive of the NFL. Ofc, we all know that there is a level of expected and forced humility, but you can tell the difference between a humble Brady and a, for example, "humble" T.O. I've never wanted to slap someone more than I do when T.O. gets on TV running his mouth like he just won the Oscar: "I'd like to thank the fans, my family, and above all else, God for giving me this amazing body, albeit a medeocre brain..." (paraphrased of course..) The point here, tho I got a little far afoot, is that while I don't deny the fact that Moss is simply not human! You can't put enough men on him... Single/Double/TRIPPLE cover him, go ahead, we dare you! He's still gonna reach out somehow and snatch that ball out of the air. That said, if he had Jason Cambell throwing to him, would his numbers still be as good? I mean, give him a break, he can't be THAT good! And the reason Brady is so unstopable this year is because he finally has some decent weapons on his offense! Could Moss be as good as he is without Brady rocketing the ball to him? And could Brady has such a sick completion rating if he had no one to throw to? I think that both could be good on their own, but the reason they are unSTOPABLE is because of the amazing bond... I mean christ, you see them sitting on the sidelines together holding hands and whispering sweet nothings... they make a hell of a pair, on the field and off (yes, I do belive they are dating.... I saw that Oprah special on the Down Low Brothers... heh)

Yet another example of how the Brady/Moss team is unstopable.. here's an article talking about all the amazing players of the week... no OTHER team had two players on this list(honerable mentions don't count)... But Brady and Moss both did. Remember that whole Bennifer(Ben Aflek and Jennifer Garner) or Brangalena (Brad Pitt and Angelna Jole) thing? Should we start calling these two Bross? hmm...

Ok, those are just a few of my favorites... there are millions of other ones as well, that I'm sure you're capable of finding and reading on your own, SO... here are some useless facts for you:

This is the 10th time the Pats have played the Eagles only 10 times during the regular season... and not since the Superbowl match... This is the first time in 20 years that the Eagles have made the trip to New England... the last time was November 29th, 1987 in SULLIVAN Stadium.. ah, nostalga! After Sunday, we will have played 3 or the 4 teams in the NFC East... The Giants will be the last one. The Pats, as you well know, have DISTROYED both the Redskins(formerly the BOSTON Redskins, prior to '34) and the Cowboys.. why should this game be any different? The last time the Pats played all four teams was in 2003... overall, the Pats record against the NFC East is 12-22, ugh!

Because we are so good, and the Eagles are so bad... lets do a little Colts V Pats... the reason behind this is simply that we will most likely see them in the AFC's so it doesn't hurt to have some foddor for the Retarded ass colt's fans that tend to run their mouths when they meet a Pats fan on the street...

Start by reading this... make sure you have some time set aside, because it's a long one... this is the cold hard truth as to how and why Brady is better than Manning ... a lot of reading, but a great and very deep and detailed article... For example, it compares the Brady vs Manning post season preformance... each of manning's Ends with: "manning chokes, colts lose" and ours end: "Brady gets it done in crunch time, patriots win..." Of course, there are exceptions to the rules.. but we don't like to talk about those!

Here's an up to date "matchup" between Manning and Brady... note things like, times sacked, or yards lost due to sacks... Here's the matchup of Moss and Reggie Wayne... heh... note Moss' 16 Recieving TD's.... booya.

Here are power rankings for the NFL.... we are leading the pack of 12 referred to as the "Dominant Dozen..." Please note that Manning and his Pony's are number four... HA..

Alrighty folks... that's all for now... Because it's a late game, I will most Likely be at the Union Pub, as I have been for the 8pm games this season...

The good news? This will be the last late Sunday night game! In theory, only three teams are allowed to have a max of 6 games... we get 7, so the rest of our game, while will still most likely be flexed, will be no later than 4:30... awesome!

If you or anyone you know plan to come on the bus next week, let me know because as it stands, I'm cancelling it on Monday...

Heather Barclay

GO PATS

10-and-0nly

OK... Cheating Ponies!!

Well, sure enough it looks to be true! Here is a little article that addresses this issue and has "expert testimony" from sound nerds etc... Through a little more digging, here is an article that lays out the rules of pumping in sound during a game. There has been a lot of crap on the various blog sites and whatnot regarding this issue, and of course there are so many people saying: well, what the PATS did was Illegal... this is just kind of a cheap shot, so it's apple's and oranges... WELL my friends, that's not true, it IS illegal, and therefore is apples and apples... If you want to get really Pissed off... go to this yahoo question, and read some of the answers... I love reading stuff like this, because when the league DOES find that the Colts were cheating, then these assholes all get to eat crow! And here is more proof on PFT rumor mill also. I'm not surprised honestly, because we had suspicions about this during the AFC championship game, and we KNOW that they were heating things up on purpose... literally... Yep, gotta love those classy colts!

Ah well, they will get theirs... karma is a mother! And when it comes down to it, we still managed to pull out a win... with the illegal noise, and bad Refs, we are undefeated and the colts are NOT!

Heather

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://dcpatfans.blogspot.com/2007/11/ok-cheating-ponies.html' title='OK... The rest of the article was interesting, but I think the comments were my favorite part... even had one guy say that If Manning were a black QB, he'd get more respect... LOL I'm not even sure how to respond to that... I guess when your team/qb/coach etc isn't getting the kind of press you want, pull the race card! I got to work this morning, still laughing about a drunken email from Ari "Maroney" or should I call him, Ari-rhymes-with-Ferrari (i LOVE drunk people!!)... Whichever. IN any case, I couldn't have said it better: "Today was the best and most energetic Pats turnout at the times i've ever seen. And the fact that there was not only a great game, but the triumphant return of the Manning Face as well, just adds to the fantastic result." It's true! Yesterday was a HUGE turnout, and a hell of a good time! And I have to tell you, as nervous as everyone was, I wasn't concerned at all! LOL... ok, that's a lie, I think I almost had a stroke to be honest. I kept running to Brendan saying "tell me something to make me feel better," and he did every time. But just like true Patriots fans, simply a win isn't good enough... there was a lot of grumbling that we didn't cover the spread... LOL

At the risk of sounding like our beloved coach, we still have a LONG way to go defensively! And if we could work on the coverage for Brady, that would be good too! We let the Colts D get after him too many times, and at one point, he looked like he was coming unglued for a minute, and how often do we see Brady lose his temper on the field? VERY rarely... Of course, a great deal of his frustration, and ours too, may have stemmed from the BLATANTLY bogus calls, and lack thereof, by the joke of a Ref team! There were as many missed pass interference calls as we have wins for Gods sake! Not to mention there is NO WAY IN HELL that was a legitimate INT by the colts. You can't honestly sit there and tell me that was a catch... when you knees hit ground before you hands touch ball, and it's called a catch... that's BS, and everyone knows it. I'd love to see what the score would have been if we had a fairly called game. I guess it's neither here nor there, because when it comes down to it, as paltry as it may have been, it's still a check in the "W" column!

First thing's first, lets do a little light Monday morning reading! The first article I need to point you to, is entitled: "Sorry, Bill, but your team's going undefeated." It's a great article, and basically says what we are all thinking... If the Colts can't stop us, who the hell can? Look at the rest of our schedule: Bills, Eagles, Ravens, Steelers, Jets, Dolphins, Giants!! There once was a time that half of those teams were something for the Pats to be concerned about: Jets, Dolphins, and Steelers were all teams, along with the broncos and chargers, that stood to give us a run for our money, however this year I don't see it! Dolphins have yet to win a game, Jets have only won one game, and the Steelers are a good solid, middle ground team! They aren't in the upper echelon of the AFC like the Pats, or Colts, but they aren't in the pits with the Jets or 'fins either. I'll be watching the Monday night game between the Steelers and the Ravens, and I'm interested to see who comes out on top...as we will see both teams in the first two weeks of December. The second article to check out, also on ESPN, is just kind of a break down of yesterday's game. The third article, much like the first, kind of rags on our tendency to not be happy, even on the doorstep of perfection, and claims that "Patriots stay perfect... but they aren't happy." I would say that statement is only 50% true, we AREN'T happy... yes, it's a win, but it really exposed our weaknesses... it will give everyone a lot to think about over the next three bye weeks.. well, one bye week then a game against the Bills, followed by a game against the Eagles.. so basically three bye weeks! This was another good article on NFL.com... hell, you go to any sports site, and I'm sure there will be some good articles, they ALL seem good when you're the winning team!

If you get a chance to grab the USA TODAY, today, do it. The cover picture now adorns my wall at work: Picture Randy Moss in mid air, with Antoine Bethea of the colts, wrapping him up (with his hands FIRMLY inside Moss' collar...) and a ball simply falling into his arms! The headline is: PATRIOTS ACT, REMAIN UNBEATEN. There are also more pictures and an article on the sports section as well. I can't remember where I heard it, because I've read every website, and got up early enough to watch an hour of mike and mike in the morning... but someone today said: "Patriots, 9-Only" and I think I love that term! Here we are, all alone in the world of the undefeated! Home field advantage for the playoff games seems to be clinched. Our AFC East game looks like it will be Pats/Bills... and I'm not concerned about that in the least... and then we know who we will see in the AFC champs...

Well, I'll miss everyone during our BYE week... I won't know what to do with myself! If anyone in the area just wants to hang out and get drunk, I'm sure that's what I'll be doing anyway! Also, I'll send out final info about the Pats/Steelers pregame event for the 8th of december. It WILL be at McFaddens and it's going to be something under $25 for all the beer you can drink and something like dollar liquor drinks... Also, if you haven't RSVP'd for the Bus please do so now, because I'll need to collect money at the Eagles game.. thus far we don't have enough people to sustain it, so I need to know ASAP if I'm somehow not going to be able to fill it..

Talk to you all soon, and as always, GO PATS!! 9 and ONLY... well on our way to becoming the '72 Dolphins!

Heather Barclay
Founder
Cell: 978-407-1655

Yep, I'm nervous...

Like I said, when I'm nervous, I send even MORE excessive emails than normal... I got home early from work yesterday (around 3pm) and from that point forward I did NOTHING except watch the NFLNetwork until about 3AM...yep, 12 hours my little mathminds! I got up only to let the dog in or out, answer the door for my landlord coming to pick up rent, and get another Miller Light Heavy... ah, the Heavy can... shades of Umass all over again! Anyway: Here are some more useless tidbits.. but first, check out this article that Mike sent... It's hilarious!

Ok, for those of you who read articles, but don't read all the crap along the sides, let me point out what I noticed while reading that article. Since September of 2001, we have played the colts 9 times, including the AFC... ::retch:: game. They didn't beat us until four years and one month later... and for the record, they beat us BAD! 40-21. For those of you who don't remember, that was the game that they played that MISERABLE Manning commercial in the fourth quarter: Tickets to the game $blah blah blah, Beer at the game $blah blah blah... Breaking the curse, beating the pats, and doing it at Gillette, Priceless... May I add, I almost cried... i was PISSED! And it was hard losing games, because we had just done SO well over the past couple years, so to lose, and to lose to a team that we ALWAYS beat... then have them shit in our cornflakes by playing that commercial before the game was actually done was nearly more than I could stand!

IN ANY case... Since the first time we lost to the colts, till now, our margin of loss has dropped drastically. First was 19 points, then in November of '06 it was by 7 points (27-20) and finally, as I'm sure we all remember, it was a loss of 4 points (38-34, thank you VERY much Tom Brady). Ugh, bad memories! In any case, as much as we are "running up the score" these days, and as much as Sir Thomas would like to see "a total blowout," I'd be happy with a check mark in the "W" column... I don't know if I would care that we wouldn't win by 17+... (of course, it wouldn't hurt...) Point being, the colts came up big in 2005, but I think this is the year when they go back to being unable to beat the Pats... I'd love to see it, and I'd LOVE to see it happen in that miserable RCA dome... In fact, they were saying on NFLNetwork today, that this may well be the last time we ever step foot into that dome, as the new stadium will be built and running for next season. Good riddance.

Another cute article is called "Halfway home in the NFL," and has a couple good references to the Patriots. The first category is: HALF THE CREDIT THEY DESERVE: Randy Moss, Green Bay's Aaron Kampman, Keith Bulluck (an annual selection in this category), the Steelers' offensive line (ditto) and Dick Jauron. Then (this is a good one): HALFWAY TO MVP: Randy Moss, Adrian Peterson, Osi Umenyiora, Bob Sanders, Peyton Manning ... Oh, who are we kidding? The ballot's closed. It's Tom Brady. Then there is no Patriots reference here, but it made me snort: HALF: The amount of Gatorade I spit out of my mouth this summer at the Manning Passing Academy after watching Eli Manning demonstrate his brother Peyton's dork-o-ramma running style. (LOL), Then, this one was wonderful...: HALF THE LEAGUE: In all of 2006, half the teams scored fewer points than the Patriots already have racked up in 2007 (331). The Pats are either really great, or the NFL really stinks. Hmm... I don't think that the ENTIRE NFL can stink, so i'm going to have to go ahead and say, we really just are that good! Now THIS one echoes my opinion nicely: HALF CRAZY: Any player who whines about the Patriots running up the score. My god. Is there no shame or pride left in the world? If you don't like it, do something about it. If not, cash your check and be quiet. And so on... there are others that are pretty funny, but non-patriots in nature, thus not worthy of my cut/paste skills!

If you get the chance, pick up USA TODAY, today! The cover article is the same picture used in that blasphemous epsn.com article with Bill looking mean and focused, and Dungy looking autistic... Er, I mean sweet! The Title is "A Clash Of Styles" with a subtitle of NFL Week 9, It's Dungy's cool confidence vs. Belichic's war games as Colts face Patriots. The opening goes this way: "One is warm and approachable; the other cool and distant. One is sunshine on his worst days; the other is icy on his best. Tony Dungy. BIll Belichick. One with a winning grin, the other grim in winning.." and so on... LOL It's almost like being at home in a way. I'm so used to turning on the tv, opening a newspaper, listening to the radio, etc and hearing Redskins this, Joe Gibbs that... but for once, every sports channel is NESN, Sports Talk 980 is now WEEI, every paper is the Globe or Herald, the FM band is all WAAF or JAMN 94.5! New England is here! Sure, is it mostly because of the caliber of this match up on Sunday, yes, I admit that... but I'll take it!

Talk to you all soon, and see you on Sunday!! As always: GO PATS!!!

Heather Barclay
Founder
Cell: 978-407-1655

Sorry guys, one more...

Ok so I started reading this article because the picture made me chuckle... (in a sardonic kind of way, vs a "this really tickles my funnybone" kind of way.) It was a picture of Dungy and his Motorola headphones on, with an ethereal glow surrounding him, (which really brings out his freckles!) and a halo delicately resting on that putrid blue Colts hat. He was staring, pensively, no no scratch that, staring kindly, off into space... as if contemplating how to save stray animals. then in contrast, we have Bill B. surrounded by red, with an angry scowl and little nubby horns sprouting from his forehead, looking rather like someone who beats children for fun... (not that there is ANYthing wrong with that...)

So i said hey, what the hell, I'll bite, or in this case, click. So i clicked... and I read... and then I started sweating... then I got so angry, that instead of even FINISHING this FILTH espn.com called an article, I decided to bother you with yet another email today! What are we up to, like 4 now? In any case... This article even managed to call OUR coach classless against Wade Freaking Philips!!! Who didn't shake WHOS hand???? We are just trying to say screw you to the rest of the world (well, kind of true..) and we had NO right to run the score up pointlessly.. and Philips on the next play ORDERED his team to kneel out, as would any coach with class... etc.

I'm steamed... I'm going to go look at ugly people on myspace now so I can calm down... I may not even finish reading the article. (ya, right..) So again, forgive me, I'll try to make this LEGIT my last... note I said TRY... lets not set myself up for failure now shall I...

Dummies are Everywhere!

Here is an article from this past week... Please forgive the cut and paste, but it was worth the read... Pay particular attention to the "gag reflex" reference at the end... It's annoying, and yet funny, because it's true! I love propaganda...

BOSTON -- If you think Boston sports fans have been insufferable in the past, just wait.

"Even black people love the Red Sox now, bro'," yelled a drunken Red Sox fan following Boston's Game 7 ALCS victory as I waited for a cab.

Ah, whatever "bro."

"And playa-playa," the man continued, "you look like Cris Collinsworth from HBO."

He was so wasted I believe he meant HBO's Cris Carter, the former Minnesota Viking. And I'm better looking than both. Bro'.

In one fell swoop, the city of Boston has become the center of the sports universe, which means Boston sports fans have a lot to cheer about. And trust me. They will. In your face.

And Yankees fans weep.

Boston fans were once to be pitied. The Red Sox and New England Patriots, not too long ago, were laughing stocks. Now the sports world has been tossed into a state of disequilibrium as Boston sports teams are kicking everyone's ass.

It will be interesting to see how Boston sports fans -- sometimes elegant, sometimes thuggish, occasionally baleful and always loyal -- handle this stunning renaissance. A renaissance we have not seen in years in any other city, if ever.

How will Red Sox fans handle being the front-runner instead of road kill? How will they handle causing the fans of other teams to weep instead of weeping themselves?

There are potentially two dynasties in this city. The Patriots already are and the Red Sox could become the next. Now, Red Sox fans and their team will be highly scrutinized targets the way the Yankees and their fans have been. Will they react to the scrutiny and become as arrogant and mean spirited as Florida Gator fans or as psycho as Dallas Cowboys fans or as paranoid as Cleveland fans? Or will they handle their newfound success with class?

When I covered the Patriots for the Boston Globe, fans would throw batteries packed in snow and ice at anything on the field that moved -- opposing players, Patriots players, the media, visiting heads of state, the Pope. Anyone. Now, they're throwing rose petals. They aren't hurling epithets and slurs as much as they once did; they're embracing the good fortune.

Look at what's happening in Boston. The Red Sox might be World Series champions for the second time in four years (actually they will be; Colorado is totally overmatched). The shock-and-awe Patriots have won three Super Bowls and currently look unbeatable while Boston College could be the best football team in the nation.

Not to mention the Boston Bruins are off to a solid start and the Celtics this offseason added Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen, instantly transforming that franchise from moribund to studly.

"It's great to be the city of champions and have so many good sports teams," Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino told the New York Times. "The spirit of the city, people feel good about the city."

Thanks for that enlightening quote, your honor.

See, that's why Boston fans are impossible to take. What does "the spirit of the city" mean exactly? Who talks that way?

It's going to get bad. They are going to talk, talk, talk these Boston fans. They'll be jabbing fingers in your face, lighting up message boards, peeing on people's lawns and crank calling Jets fans.

We're going to see pictures of some drunken Kennedy cousin at Fenway Park and shots of faux celebrities swapping kisses. We're going to hear chants of "Let's go Red Sox" everywhere -- in restaurants, in public bathrooms, in our dreams.

We're going to see local television journalists yell "Go Sox!" during their broadcasts as some did during the ALCS against Cleveland.

And perhaps worst of all, we're going to see and hear from Ben Affleck.

It's going to get really, really bad.

Millions of people may have to cover their ears and eyes as Boston dominates American sports in the coming days.

Just prepare yourself, non-Boston sports fans, for your gag reflex to be regularly engaged.

Be prepared ... bro'.

This week!

Well hello again everyone! First of all, i'd like to give you the link to a wonderful article that our fellow pats fan, Ari "someone stole my Maroney Jersey" Goldmann! The article is awesome, and hilarious! My favorite paragraph was: "It was 2004, when a merry band of self-proclaimed "Idiots" forever changed the face of the franchise by winning its first World Series since 1918 and proving that the "curse" was nothing more than a five-letter punch line. No more "1918" chants in the Bronx. No more fans mythically lining up like lemmings on the Tobin Bridge."

If you can't laugh at that, you're not right in the head! I'm still chuckling about it! (of course, nobody has ever accused me of being all that right in the head either i suppose...) Humor aside (which there is a GREAT deal of) this article should make any loyal, PRE-'04, sox fan well-up, because it is only they who would understand some of the references... The article, found on boston.com, proclaims this year's comeback, as something that is no longer "unfathomable, instead [something which] unfolded like a logical sequel to 2004's 'Faith Rewarded.'" I'm the first to admit, I'm not a general baseball fan...but ofc I love the sox, and hate the Yankees...they breed us that way in Ma! I know how to spell Yastrzemski (well, at least i can SAY it anyway...) and Bucker's name makes me wince... So even though you ALL know I'm football first, and everything else second, I'm still so excited and nervous I could die! As long as there are no conflicts with the Pats, I'll be watching every one of the series games lol!

So that said, tonight, Game one of the World Series! Can you stand it? I personally can't... and I'm not sure my liver can either! This has been the most stressful couple of sports weeks of my life! I don't handle the pressure well... oh, and my boss is starting to get a tad suspicious of the "flu" i keep getting following all weeknight Sox/Pats games... In any case, same bat-time, same bat-channel. Head to the union pub and harass Lance the bartender... And let us not forget games 2 and 3 coming up Thursday and again Saturday. And then coming up this Sunday, Pats V DeadSkins! Games at 4:15, but get there early and don't forget, be LOUD! I can bet that a bunch of jackass Redskins fans will be at the Times on Sunday...

Now, on to the useless stats and info: It's funny because the 'Skins fans have been running off at the mouth an AWEFUL lot... up until the begining of this week, and now I'm hearing: "Well, the Sox will always suck, and they are going down... and as long as the Skins keep the Pats under 30 points, thats enough of a moral victory to us!" (ok, there's not a skins fan alive that would write that well... so that's a bit of a paraphrase... moral, and victory in one Redskin fan's vocabulary? Not likely... they are both multi-syllabic!"

So really quickly, Brady has been nominated for the second week in a row for the FedEx Player of the week. I'd love to see that announced on Friday... right before we go play the Skins, who hail from FedEx Field! lol.

Ok, at the risk of sounding cocky... there's not a whole lot i have to say about this game. I can tell you that we have met the Skins during our regular season, just 8 times. The Redskins HAVE had a tendency to beat us, however I honestly believe that it's due to the fact that the Pats (and pat's fans) like to sleep on the teams that do poorly, and then show thier ass when they actually have to play them. We DID however beat the skins 40-zip in the preseason this year... Now normally i would say 40 is a little lower than we could do (here comes that cocky again!) but I'll take another 40 on a shutout! Now, keep in mind that we haven't beaten the skins in the regular season since 1972... But I think this is a great year to update our stats! We've been breaking records and beating personal bests, and updating stats all season, why stop now?

Since our match up with the Bears, November 10th, 2002, we have been on a 20-2 winning streak against NFC teams. Just last season alone, we were 4-0 against NFC teams... The total combined scores from those four games were 111-41! It's funny, because that's exactly the score I'm hoping to get this week!

Another interesting fact is that this is the only NFL team that Brady doesn't have a regular season win against, as a starting QB!! Lets just see if we can't get his little sissy pants a win shall we? Then he will have beaten every single NFL team during his career! Interestingly, Jason Cambell has never even played the Pats so lets NOT allow him to win his first match up against us!

A stat in our favor: the Skins have never played us, in the regular season, at "Gillette"(blech, hate that name) stadium.. and we just so happen to be 17-1 in our last 18 games against teams making their first apperence in our new stadium... We hold the all time record of 21-4 against Gillette virgins in fact! Follwing the game on Sunday, there will be only five teams left that haven't played us at home in the new stadium: Arizona, Atlanta, Carolina, Philadelphia and St. Louis... not that ANY of them would have a chance in or OUT of our stadium!

I think that's all for now... I'm sure as I read on, I will find other crap to bother you with! in fact, I'll be sending an email out regarding our bus trip to Bmore next!

As always: GO PATS!!! (Oh, and Sox too! )

Heather Barclay

WORLD SERIES!!!!!

So, yesterday was the most emotionally exhausting sports day of my life! After blowing the dolphins out of the water (yes, i had STRONG doubts) we then went on to win game 7 of ALCS...I can't take more stress! The game went from being pretty damned close, to a legit blow out... Yep, life is pretty good!

Game one of the series will be this wednesday. Location TBD... most likely the Pub, but something different may pop up between now and then. I'll shoot out an email tomorrow with specifics.

Now, as for the Dolphin game! Here come the stats... First let me say that we were one touchdown pass away from being the SIXTH team in NFL history to ever have 7 TD passes in one game. The most recent was in 1969, and that was by none other than Joe Kapp in 1969, just one year before he was traded to the then Boston Patriots! So, needless to say, it has not been done anytime in recent history. That is now my goal for next week's game against the Deadskins. However, we did beat the franchise record for most TD's scored. the 6 touch down passes Brady threw broke the previous record of 5, which was matched last week, by Brady, and originally set by Vito Parilli in both '64 and '67, and then again in '79 by my darling Grogan. So in just two games, Brady matched, then broke the franchise record... the only thing left IS the NFL record! We also beat the franchise record of points scored in a single half! At the half we had 42-7 on the dolphins... the previous record was back in 1978 at Schaefer Stadium, against the Jets. We went into the half in that game with 41-7, and went on to win 55-21... hmm, I like that score better!

Yesterday's score marked the 6th highest score in franchise history, and the HIGHEST score since we played the colts, November 18th, 1984... where we scored 50-17... can we get THAT score on the 4th?? Basically, going over the long list of scores from past games, we are putting up some disgusting numbers. Some of the various headlines today say things like, "the patriots are so good, they don't need to cheat ~Everett Herald" or "Brady, Patriots, flawless again Myrtle Beach Sun News." or finally "[miami] Stadium Hardly Dolphin Safe ~Boston Globe." I think the first one is my favorite, I legit laughed out loud...

Randy Moss: can we say inhuman?? The man just isn't right, nobody can be that good!! There were two TD passes that NOBODY should have caught!! But sure enough, he did... He can bend, twist, stretch, jump, like nobody i've ever seen, and he and Brady work so well together it's almost like he can catch a Brady pass without even looking... they are just that good together. Moss is now the second reciever in Patriots history to catch 10 or more TD passes in a single season, and as Ms. Emilio's mother would say, "there's a lot of football left!" And it's true! We just finished game 7, and Moss has caught a total of 10 passes thus far. I believe it's safe to say that he may just catch a few more this year...

Another important record broken: and this is a big one! Yesterday, and this is what I've been hoping for all week (silently so as not to jinx something)... The patriots broke the NFL record run. We are the first time in NFL history to win each of the first 7 games, beating our opponant by 17 or more points each game!!

A couple more honerable mentions: Two 100+yard receivers, 138 for Welker and 122 for Moss. Junior Seau sacked the Lemon for his 54th career sack. back up back up QB Matt Gutierrez made his NFL carrer debut, and may I just add that he looked a hell of a lot better than that goddamned Matt Cassel who gave up an interception first rattle out of the box... ugh!

Ok guys, it's been a hell of a weekend, and I'm drained! There will be more later, regarding our upcoming game against the Redskins... i've gotta get reading now, and will subject you to another novel later on in the week...

Talk to you all soon, GO PATS/GO SOX!!

Heather Barclay

What is a Masshole

Here's another one of my recent emails. This all started by me asking the group if they had ever used the term "BoSox" in their lives?! Other than media and the occasional dipshit, i had never heard of such a thing, but some non-new england native (read: bandwagon) red sox fan tried to tell me that EVERYONE did to differenciate between the "ChiSox." ::gag:: so I had posed the question... which spawned discussion of people East of 128 saying Mass vs Massachusetts, and then finally into the term Masshole. Being very proud of my "masshole-edness" I sent out this reply. Pardon the rambling, as it's been a wonderfully emotional two days for me, sports-wise:

Now, first of all I cant really address the "mass" thing, because i know that i say it, but I'm also from Worcester County... which many of you jerks keep calling WESTERN mass which is SO not true... I'm central!!! :-P (PS, see? I just did it... i said western MASS lol)

But I would LOVE to address the "masshole" thing. First of all, from what i've learned about the word, it originated in NY... but it's now commonly used in VT/NH/ME in reference to those of us who jump the border to go shopping tax free! (guilty... bought my car in NH...)

It's also often (i would say MOST commonly) used as an "insult" towards our very uh, unique style of driving. If you look the word up on urbandictionary they have the most ignorant and derogatory definition... wikipedia however has some awesome little blurbs about it, and both are worth checking out.

So, i've written all of this to say: I'm a masshole.... i drive fast, cut people off, and tailgate like it's my job! I think that using a directional is a sign of weakness, and i know how to use a rotary! I'm loud, i'm rowdy and I drink Jameson like a sailor, hell, I named my dog Jameson! I know every word in "Tessie" and prolly every other Murphey's song too. I can tell you, in order every Patriots QB in franchise history, and I know every name the stadium has ever been called... Not only did i spend a car payment on ravens/pats tickets, I've already taken that day, and the FOLLOWING day off from work. I live to get drunk and fight... i specifically enjoy fighting people from NY... If this makes me a Masshole, then damnit I'm proud of it! So proud in fact, that i have a bumpersticker on the back of my car, and a matching tshirt that says MASSHOLE in redsox letters.

Now, just for the record, the reason I'm railing on and on about how goddamned proud I am to be from Massachusetts is, well, did YOU guys watch the game last night? Have you watched ESPN at all lately? I got my game tickets yesterday, the Pats are looking better than they've looked in my memory, (getting caught was the best thing to happen to us... Bill is giving every single other hater out there the finger with every touchdown we score...) The sox pulled one out last night, even though i'm a BU supporter, i still have to have love for BC doing so well, the Celts may actually have a season worth mentioning and there are even rumors that our dear hockey team might actually do something this year! I've always loved being from New England, but it's had it's sports related ups and downs... but right now, it's feeling PRETTY good to be from Mass! (yep, mass... I said it again!)

Intro and Rules of engagement

Hello all! For those of you who haven't been suffering through my long emails every week, I figured I should do a brief introduction. My name is Heather and prior to moving to DC, I was a lifelong resident of the great commonwealth of Massachusetts. ::stands and salutes:: As I sit at my desk at work and type this (because the sox won last night, so I'm clearly not getting anything productive done today) I look around and smile and the, almost obsessive, amount of Patriots, uh, crap for lack of better term. I have a light up mini Pats helmet on Mardi Gras beads from Vegas that a friend of mine got while she was there for her birthday, i have a giant Pats calender, a patriots tissue box, a little patriots pen caddy complete with about 12 patriots pens... two pads a patriots note paper... and a printed email from my friend Maura that says simply: WE WOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNN! Referring to her winning bid on two tickets to the Pats V Ravens monday night game. Does this make me obsessive? Perhaps.

The reason for this blog is because while my poor fan club members think they are getting mini-novels before each game, there is often SO much more that i have to say! So I've decided at this stage of the game, it's time to get a blog... hey, everyone's doing it right? So heretofore, I shall be putting the excess, the mental spillover if you will, here. If you read this, I can't be blamed for my violent and chronic verbal diarrhea!

Let me end this nonsense by saying I appreciate comments, both positive and negative, but here are my rules: Yankees fans, move on... LOL just kidding, HOWEVER, if you don't have anything constructive to say, and "red sox suck" or "belicheat" or any other camera-related slur do not qualify, then please don't waste my time. If you want to discuss the fact that we were busted cheating and are now handing out giant fuck you's to every single person who ran their mouth about us having cheated to get our rings every time we run the score up past 34, then so be it, but it must be constructive.

I swear like a trooper, and while I will try to keep it to a minimum, I promise nothing. If you offend easily, don't bitch to me about it, just find another post to read. While talking about offending, I can be VERY politically INcorrect... again, if you don't like it, don't read it.

If you graduated from Villanova, i don't want to talk to you... As a umass grad, I've gotten into more scraps with those a-hole fans than any other team we ever played!

Please do not send me hate mail, if you have something to say, post a comment... if you live in the DC area and want to join the fan club, then feel free to shoot me an email.

I write this for fun, and out of a deep and undying love for the Patriots... I'm not a bandwagon fan by any means. I can name all the QB's in franchise history, in order.... I can tell you every single name the stadium was ever called, I suck at fantasy football, because I refuse to have any Dolphins, Steelers, Colts or Jets on my team, in addition to traitors such as our former Kicker, and the likes... I've been a fan since I was born... I'm an October baby, and I spent my first Pats game (October 9th, Pats V Ravens, Grogan starting... we lost... such was the trend back then.. we went 7-9 that year) resting on my fathers chest... something that day rubbed off, and I've been an addict ever since. If you love the patriots as much as I do, or at least love football as much as I do, then read on, and enjoy!

And as always, GO PATS!!!

SQUISH THE FISH!

ah... how '80's! Well, ok guys, here's the deal. I'm too superstitious to give you any of the delicious stats that i have for Sunday's game. I have some good, and some bad, but they're all fascinating (god knows i love my useless Pats Stats). However good or bad, I'm legit freaked out that i'm going to jinx something! SO.. I'll be giving you the cool numbers about this weeks matchup, next week! I'll shoot of a little DCAP Post-game report!

However, lord knows I can't pass up a chance to give you SOME kind of random statistics... SO, I did a little head-head comparison. I matched up Brady, Manning, McNair and Rothlesburger. Here's my justification for the picks. Manning, need i say more, McNair because Bmore, at home, on a Monday night could be something to write home about... and Big Ben because many of the "experts" are saying that the one team that will make us 15-1 will be the Steelers... which I personally don't see, but lord knows i've been wrong before, I mean, look at my weekly pick-em score! lol. In any case, Brady is leading the pack with a 73% pass completion rate, followed by Manning at 69% Mcnair at 66% and poor old tired, no helmet havin Ben at a meager 62%

One thing we need to watch tho, looking at these guys stats, is Sacks. Ben leads with 11!! However, Tommy boy next with 6, McNair 4, and "Saytan" only 3 times thus far. Gotta work on our protection, and that was pretty obvious against our match against the 'boys. While sacks alone are bad enough, you need to look at total yards lost as a result. For us, we've lost 34yards total... Poor Ben's lost a whopping 89, McNair and the Eagles gave up 37, but the scary number is Manning... he and his line have only blown 15 total yards due to sacks...

Manning is also the only out of the four to directly score any points. He has one TD to his credit this year. However, we are tied damn near across the board with 2 INT each (except ofc for dear old Ben.. he's got 3...) so take those stats and do what you will with them.. but all in all, i think we are working with a hell of a team this year, and I've also (ack!) given Brady some praise here and there... and EVERYone knows how I feel about him.

Welcome to the upper echelon folks... I'm liking the view from up here!

In other news, I'll be at the Pub tonight for the game... lets all say a silent prayer, periodically throughout the day... my boy's on 106.7, the Junkies, are saying they think this will be the full 7 games... with the sox pulling out of their asses at the end. And quick question... someone was trying to tell me that "EVERYONE" from Mass calls the sox the "BoSox" to distinguish from the "ChiSox" please tell me that's not actually true. I mean, i know the Globe's done it... but in everyday conversation, i can't imagine going up to another Masshole saying, "So, Sully, you catch that pissah BoSox game last night? It was wicked nuts hey!" Quite frankly, if you know me, or even if you've just heard me talk, I don't feel i need to clarify WHICH Sox I'm talkin about!
